I got a single ticket in the 3rd row, pretty close to the center. Larger blocks of tickets are about 10 rows back right now.
Edit: Ack. I'm going to be at Projekt Revolution at Great Woods that night. Anyone want to buy a 3rd row ticket for Hot Stove Cool Music?

Yay Massachusetts!
Yay Massachusetts! The legislature voted 45-151, killing the proposed referendum to ban gay marriage.
The intro to
this WBZ4 news clip is fantastic. "Most debated issue in MA since 'Should
they have pulled Buckner for defensive purposes in game 6?'"

The Allstonians
When did Ska go business casual?
I saw the Allstonians at the Kirkland Cafe, and they still rock. But as a genre, ska should either be performed in black suits with a white shirt and checkered accents, or by a bunch of punks who look like they're on the way back from a fight and stopped to play a show.
It was kind weird to see a mix of the two and a lead singer in khakis and a polo shirt. Still a good show, and they played a bunch of songs I haven't seen live since 1997, but the clothing choices really reminded me that it's not 1997 anymore.
I'm glad I went, and I wouldn't have gone if my bike shop guy hadn't said he was in the band when I stopped in after work to get chain grease. (bike guy is Tyler at http://www.paramountbicycle.com/
He runs an honest shop and I've been happy with everything I've gotten fixed or bought there.)

OMG. New ESPN Fantasy Baseball Ad
There's an
amazing ad for ESPN's fantasy baseball on tv. I don't play fantasy baseball, but it's an amazing ad.
It starts with a guy in an office cube singing something about fantasy baseball to a generic rock opera backing track. Then the cube wall disappears and you have a stage with smoke machines and a backing chorus of office workers, random baseball players, mascots, Bronson Arroyo in a Reds uniform playing guitar, and Peter Gammons in a cape and long silver wig. Apparently Geddy Lee is in the ad too, but I couldn't pick him out of the chaos.
Just wow.
Edit: Here's an
extended version. In the original, apparently Geddy Lee flashes on the screen in the last 2 seconds.

Curt Shilling's blog has really good post today
Curt Shilling posted Q&A VI.
He's really posting deep, reflective stuff, especially the answers to these questions:
"Q-Amazed that the ’04 team and what we accomplished isn’t celebrated more?"
"Q-If I could change one rule in baseball what would it be?"
I wish he'd number or bold the questions so they stand out more. It's a little hard to read as is. Also, he rephrased the questions so they're in first person so it sounds like he's interviewing himself in an echo chamber instead of the dialog he's got going on his blog.
Funny editing mistake- it looks like he switched answers to "Q-All time favorite baseball movie?" in the middle of his response. Because "Bull Durham" vs. "Field of Dreams" is always a tough choice.

Schilling's blog
I'm reading
Curt Schilling's blog because honestly, who isn't? I hate most of his political opinions, but have incredible respect for his knowledge and skills in baseball and the way he testified before Congress to try and get steroids out of baseball.
The kids leaving questions and comments on his blog are adorable. It's all ~Dear Mr. Shilling~ and ~Hi Mr. Schilling, I'm name and I'm 8 years old.~
